Russ Rose Now (2026): “Tori was one of the few players we recruited that played at Happy Volley Tournament on Memorial Day weekend. She was a player from Canada, and her father was a former professional football player in Canada, so she came from tough stock and she competed hard. The year I asked her to change position from middle to outside hitter, she said whatever I needed her to do to help the team, she would do. Some kids, you like them at the beginning, and then when they’re so accommodating to do the best for the team and being an adult, you have an even greater affection for them. Tori was great. She married one of our practice players, Joey Farrell, who also spent time with the men’s team.”
2017 Season (Redshirt Sophomore) Highlights and Awards: Earned a Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor (11/27) … averaged 1.02 blocks per set, a new personal best, and ranked 8th in the Big Ten.
Season Recap: Played in 34 matches and 110 sets … put down a season-high 11 kills against Howard (12/1) with a .714 hitting percentage … hit .500-plus on 18 occasions, including putting down a 7-0-7 performance against Northwestern (9/30) … put together six matches with five or more blocks, including a career-best nine blocks at Minnesota (11/25) … finished the season with 15 digs.
NCAA Tournament: Started all 5 of Penn State’s NCAA Tournament matches, including a season-high 11 kills with a .714 hitting percentage against Howard (12/1), and 7 total blocks vs Pitt in the NCAA Second Round.

Before Penn State: Attended Abbey Park High School … helped Abbey Park win the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association AAA volleyball championship … led the team to an undefeated season as well as the Halton Tier I and Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference AAA titles … played club volleyball with Toronto’s Leaside, where she earned Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) U17 All-Star honors in 2013-14 and Preseason Humber Tournament All-Star honors in 2014.
